Boldscan - Albion Canvas
Somerset based Glamping manufacturer, Boldscan, has created the next generation of tents that take glamorous camping to a new level.
The innovative and stylish design of the `Etosha` range capitalises on the natural setting; with big picture windows and two deep wooden verandas covered by a canopy, one of which can feature a hot tub.
There are two design options: the Safari and the Contemporary. The Safari is a subtle sand canvas with green roofs which blends seamlessly into the countryside. In contrast The Continental evokes a cool villa on the Med with elegant white walls, slate blue roofs and can have transparent blue walls surrounding the verandas. The low, one level design has been developed with disabled guests in mind.
The T shaped floorplan can be configured to sleep up to eight including a master bedroom, guest bedroom plus cabin beds, with heating provided by a wood burning stove. There is an option to add a wooden pod with a bespoke en-suite bathroom with a roll top bath, deluxe shower and separate proper loo.
Using the latest in dye sublimation printing technology, interiors including curtains, cushions and upholstery fabrics, can be custom made by Boldscan. There is no limit to the creativity.
The hot trend for glamping has appealed to farmers looking to diversify, holiday parks looking to update their range of accommodation, and attractions, including zoos, who want to extend the guest experience and maximise revenue.
Bella Given from Longlands set up a glamping business four years ago with advice and tents from Boldscan. She will be talking at the Farm Innovation Show on the `Secrets to a Successful Glamping Business`. Longlands had an occupancy of 95% in its first year, produced a turnover of almost £200k in year two and is generating an operating profit almost twice that of the business plan.
Managing Director, Steve Hansford, commented: `Glamping continues to grow in popularity and guests have become increasingly discerning. The new Etosha range combines the fun of camping with all the benefits of staying in a cottage or villa. It offers the best of both worlds.`
Prices for The Safari and The Contemporary start at £15,950, plus VAT, depending on the options chosen a typical spend would be between £30 - £35k to fully fit out. High season prices for Glamping are up to £1,425 per week. Boldscan can advise on planning, finance, positioning, as well as assembling and maintaining the lodges.
